After three nights in East Cowes, we moved upriver to Folly Point for a final night on the Medina
A decent meal, decent beer and some music followed that evening. All very acceptable
Yesterday, we motored across a very breezy Solent and up to the river pontoon at Bucklers Hard on the Beaulieu River
It's a spectacular mooring.
Today we dinghied ashore for a wander round the museum and lunch (and beer!). It was a lovely day with sunshine and warmth at last
We had a problem with the dinghy coming back (a split in the bow chamber which is probably beyond repair) but the harbour master came to our assistance to get back on board. No great drama, just a nuisance
Tomorrow we're planning to move on to Lymington for a couple of days.

Watching your progress with great interest Bruce. I'll be in Lymington tomorrow afternoon. I'm in the process of swapping my Seaward 23 for a Seaward 25 and sea trial is tomorrow from Dan Bran. Going to Cobb's Quay, Poole overnight to take photo's of Sea Rider (23) for sales brochure. When are you heading for Poole? Where do you plan to moor? Cobb's Quay is good and you get to go through the Twin Sails.

ReplyDeletePoole is now looking unlikely due to the grotty weather. We have to be out of Lymington by 12:00 tomorrow and I really don't fancy a 25 mile bash into an F6 headwind and 1.5 to 1.8 metre waves on the nose. Looks likely, unless there's a sudden change in the weather, that we'll end up heading back to Portsmouth for the weekend
