Depart Bradwell Marina @ 12:30 towards home mooring @ North Fambridge Yacht Station eta 18:30
Intended route via Bachelor Spit and the Ray Sand. Alternative route via the Spitway
Alternatives:
Return to Bradwell or head for Brightlingsea if passage to the Crouch not possible for any reason
Burnham Yacht Harbour if progress upriver too slow etc.
Alongside at NFYS if necessary
Bradwell LW 10:28 1.2, HW 17:03 4.8, 2.0m rising @ 12:30, 2.5m rising @ 13:15
Holliwell Point LW 10:55 1.3, HW 17:11 4.9, 3.5m of rising tide @ 14:40
North Fambridge HW 17:36 4.9
Departure timed to give more than sufficient water to exit Bradwell Creek whilst not arriving of St. Peters too early
Intention is to cut across Bachelor Spit (least depth at CD 0.6m) and, with caution, cross the Ray Sand (dries 1.4m)
ETA at St Peters Flats approx. 13:15, if early hold on Eastwards to the Knoll east cardinal and then decide whether to lay a course for the Ray Sand or to the Spitway
ETA at Ray Sand North waypoint (0.5m North of the Raysand North yellow mark which dries) 14:30
UNDRR NO CIRCUMSTANCES press on beyond the Ray Sand North waypoint early. If early, wait! Ware wave action
Proceed with caution at reduced speed over the sands, grounding gently on the rising tide will not be a problem. Hitting hard would be!
Expect to lose the tide on the final stretch to North Fambridge
Met Office forecast Gib Pt to Nth Foreland: variable 2 to 4, becoming 4 or 5 for a time. Smooth or slight. Occasional rain in North. Good occasionally moderate in North
(about as much use as usual but no strong wind warning)
Windy forecast: Westerly F4, gusting F5 later, 0.2m to 0.3m wave height
(Expect some potential wind over tide waves in the Crouch. Expect to be motoring once across the Ray Sand)
